Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a new direct train service, the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train, which will take passengers on a 10-day tour of Uttarakhand. The service, designed to enhance the travel experience to popular destinations in the state, will depart from Kolkata on December 3 and return on December 13. The train will cover key locations like Nainital, Almora, Bhimtal, and Tal, offering passengers a one-stop solution for visiting multiple destinations without needing to change trains.
The launch of the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train is part of a strategic partnership between IRCTC and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. The train will provide tourists an immersive travel experience, highlighting the cultural and natural attractions of Uttarakhand, which is often referred to as ‘Devbhoomi,’ the land of gods. Destinations included in the tour are known for their serene landscapes, religious significance, and historical importance, such as the temples of Nainital, the hill stations of Almora, and the tranquil lakes of Bhimtal and Tal.
This 10-day package will operate with pre-scheduled stops at each destination, ensuring tourists have ample time for sightseeing and exploring local landmarks. The ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train service offers two class options: Standard and Deluxe. The Standard class fare is ₹30,925, while the Deluxe class ticket is priced at ₹38,535. Both options include the full 10-day package, which covers train travel, accommodation, meals, sightseeing, and guided tours to local attractions at each stop. Passengers will also have the opportunity to experience local culture, visit heritage sites, and enjoy nature walks.
The train will be equipped with three-tier AC coaches, ensuring passengers travel in comfort throughout the journey. Onboard services will include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, with menu options catering to different dietary preferences. In addition, each compartment will be fitted with modern amenities, including charging points and clean restrooms. The travel experience is designed to ensure convenience, with a focus on delivering a high-quality service that meets the needs of both domestic and international tourists.
IRCTC’s General Manager, Manoj Kumar Singh, stated that the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ initiative is a significant step towards promoting domestic tourism. By offering an all-inclusive package that covers travel, accommodation, and sightseeing, IRCTC hopes to attract a wide range of travelers looking for a hassle-free and immersive experience in Uttarakhand. This train service is expected to bolster tourism in the state, as it provides easy access to key destinations in one seamless journey. Bookings for the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train are now open, and IRCTC has urged interested passengers to book their tickets early due to high demand.
